The Tapestry of Life!

"The art of living is more like wrestling than dancing" Marcus Aurelius

I guess when you think about what Marcus Aurelius states above, it is rather true. When dancing, the flow is smooth, in sync with a rythem and no flaws. Wrestling on the other hand is brutal, painful, vague on actions... More like the lives we live.

My point is rather simple. This year has been a roller coaster ride. Always assuming things will be in place and it will work itself out right, well, it surely does not go down that path as I expected and working at it requires more personal ingenuity.

All I am saying is that life as it may be in my eyes is not bad at all, but needs attention to head in the direction I choose it to be. Decisions that are not always easy and could have a detrimental turn if not thought off properly. Yes, I have made many mistakes in my life, all of which I am accountable for and have dealt with the consequences.

I have this friend who asked me on several occasions, "why are the good ones being punished?" truly I cannot answer this question, the next response was, "why does the bad people get off easy?" again, I can speculate that it may seem easy to them as they really dont care much about the things they do, whereas, the good take time to analyze their faults and dwell in them.

Just a few things to place my thoughts as they matter to me.

ATV Adventure atop the world!

A Sunday adventure experience on an ATV! Taking a look at the islands activities, I surprised my children with the All Terrain Vehicle experience atop MT. Tapochao. Stunning views of panoramic beauty that I could not catch due the camera malfunctioning, but got one shot right before we headed out from the ATV compound. Mr. Ko Sung Il, owner of the STAR ATV's offered my children and I an adventure that will not be forgotten. Aside from the island norm of sand, sea, and surf, we went mountain top on motorized vehicles. Whew! the site surely is breathtaking. A fine Sunday despite the weather forecast of partly sunny we took the risk of possible rainfall, we said "what the heck!" let's go...

Many say that the island offers so little enjoyment, but the reality is, we have so much to offer and its all about venturing out and looking at the variety of alternative activities for family fun. I enjoyed this day with my children. The wife and my youngest son as well more of the girls could not make the adventure, but I am certain that one day, we, the family, will all try this activity again.

Mt. Tapochao, if measured from bottom of sea ocean floor to the tip rises higher than that of Mt. Everest, so basically, we are on top of the world. Should you wish to try this out, give me a call and I could help arrange it for you, Mr. Ko is a great friend of mine and I am sure he will extend the same courtesy to you as he did me. Get outside and do some fun activities with the family, it is very safe. The guide takes good care of everyone. He watches the speed and the type of terrain suitable for a safe family time.

Brian "Snugs" Leon Guerrero
My brother, I am saddened by your departure, but I know you are in better hands with the lord Jesus Christ. One day we will all see each other again. Good bye "Snugs"...

Russians Bid Farewell

For 20 days, my school, Ladera International School of Saipan (LISS) had the pleasure of meeting new friends, exchanging cultures and co-mingling with students from Sakhalin, Russia. 9 out of the 10 students that are featured in the photo shared great experiences on Saipan and to top it off, they are the 1st ever Russian student study group to come to Saipan and study English and other courses. A major step for the development of education-tourism for the islands.
Expanding our reach into other marketing opportunities such as the traditional Japanese, Korean and now opening up China and India. What do you think of that for education... This is definitley an avenue the CNMI should capitalize on.
